Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for real-time threat detection and response
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents and document findings
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Develop and execute vulnerability assessments and penetration tests
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and other frameworks
- Create comprehensive incident response plans and conduct tabletop exercises
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and threat intelligence platforms
- Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and common attack vectors
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate complex issues to stakeholders
