Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and implementing remediation measures
- Develop and maintain security automation scripts to enhance incident response capabilities
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with NIST and ISO standards
- Create comprehensive security documentation including incident response plans and risk assessments
- Stay current with emerging threats and threat intelligence through continuous research and analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Professional certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH) or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency with security tools: SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS systems, and vulnerability scanners
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud security architectures
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (MISP, Recorded Future) and malware analysis
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to correlate complex security data and prioritize threats
- Effective communication skills for presenting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
