Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cybersecurity incidents in real-time
- Conduct threat hunting activities using forensic tools and behavioral analysis to identify advanced persistent threats
- Investigate security alerts, perform root cause analysis, and document incident response activities
- Develop and maintain security monitoring dashboards, playbooks, and automation scripts
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement vulnerability remediation and security hardening measures
- Prepare comprehensive incident reports and executive-level security briefings
- Stay current on emerging threats and contribute to continuous improvement of security controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- Professional certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, or Sentinel) and EDR solutions
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and threat intelligence frameworks
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing methodologies
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats in high-pressure situations
- Effective communication skills for documenting complex security incidents
