Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents and prepare detailed incident reports
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection platforms
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and maintain security documentation including policies, procedures, and playbooks
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 standards
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for incident response (rotating bi-weekly)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, network analysis (Wireshark), and vulnerability scanners
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and common attack vectors
- Experience with cloud security platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP security services)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
