Responsibilities
- Monitor security events using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and analyze threat intelligence feeds
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents and prepare detailed incident reports
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection)
- Collaborate with IT teams to patch vulnerabilities and remediate security gaps
- Develop and refine playbooks for incident response and disaster recovery scenarios
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises
- Ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and industry-specific regulations
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend defensive improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or threat analysis
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency with security tools (Splunk, Wireshark, Metasploit)
- Strong understanding of network protocols and attack vectors
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) environments
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
