Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents and implement remediation strategies
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including incident response playbooks and compliance reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices across cloud and hybrid environments
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry trends through continuous research and training
- Participate in security awareness initiatives to educate employees on threat mitigation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or threat detection
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, or CEH (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency in security tools: SIEM platforms, EDR solutions, and vulnerability scanners
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats under pressure
- Effective communication skills for documenting incidents and presenting findings to stakeholders
