Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and maintain security documentation including incident response plans and risk assessments
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure regulatory compliance
- Lead incident response activities during security breaches to minimize damage
- Analyze malware and sophisticated attack vectors to enhance defensive capabilities
- Provide security awareness training to employees and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar)
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency in network security protocols (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex security data
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61, etc.)
- Knowledge of compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
