Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to sophisticated cyber threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation actions
- Develop and maintain security automation scripts to enhance threat detection capabilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with NIST frameworks
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on enterprise systems and applications
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry best practices through continuous learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or incident response
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency in security tools: SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and threat intelligence
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize critical incidents under pressure
- Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- US citizenship or permanent residency required due to government contracts
