Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices
- Analyze logs and alerts to identify anomalous activity and potential threats
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA standards
- Create detailed incident reports and executive security summaries
- Maintain and optimize security tools including IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection platforms
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) environments
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency in threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and encryption technologies
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
