Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations on security incidents and provide detailed incident response reports
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and maintain security documentation including playbooks, policies, and compliance reports
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into new projects
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Professional certifications: CISSP, Security+, or CEH preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, network security protocols, and vulnerability scanning
- Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate complex security data
- Experience with compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA)
- Excellent written communication for reporting and documentation
- Ability to work rotating shifts for 24/7 operations coverage
