Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms 24/7 to detect and analyze security incidents
- Investigate alerts, determine threat severity, and coordinate incident response
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network assets
- Develop and maintain security automation scripts for threat mitigation
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive leadership
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current on emerging threats and adapt defense strategies accordingly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in SOC operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and cloud security
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS systems
- Certification in CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH required
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends
