Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect potential threats
- Conduct incident response investigations including forensic analysis and containment procedures
- Develop and implement security controls to mitigate vulnerabilities in network infrastructure
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on systems and applications
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA standards
- Document security incidents, mitigation actions, and create comprehensive incident reports
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats and recommend proactive security measures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification preferred
- Proficiency in security tools: SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and encryption technologies
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize incidents under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation
