Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across network infrastructure
- Develop and enforce security policies aligned with NIST and ISO 27001 standards
- Lead incident response coordination during security breaches and cyberattacks
- Analyze threat intelligence and implement proactive countermeasures
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure continuous security posture improvement
- Document security procedures and maintain compliance documentation
- Mentor junior analysts on emerging threats and defense techniques
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SIEM implementation
- Active CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ certification
- Proficiency in network security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR)
- Experience with threat hunting and forensic investigation
- Strong knowledge of cloud security (AWS/Azure) and zero-trust architecture
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Valid Virginia driver's license for occasional site visits
