Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber incidents in real-time
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and implement security protocols for network devices, servers, and cloud infrastructure
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and industry-specific regulations
- Generate comprehensive incident response reports and security improvement recommendations
- Stay current on emerging threats and defensive technologies through continuous research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) environments
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or CompTIA Security+)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and network security protocols
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption technologies
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize critical security incidents
- Effective communication skills for documenting incidents and presenting findings
