Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using Splunk, QRadar, and Sentinel to detect sophisticated cyber threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending mitigation strategies
- Develop and maintain security automation scripts using Python and PowerShell for threat response
- Collaborate with network engineering teams to implement security controls across hybrid environments
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using tools like Nessus and Burp Suite
- Generate executive-level security reports and briefings for CISOs and compliance officers
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation with scheduled overtime compensation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or threat detection
- Active CISSP, Security+, or CompTIA CySA+ certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms and security orchestration tools
- Strong understanding of MITRE ATT&CK framework and threat intelligence sources
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and network architecture
- Ability to obtain Secret clearance (required for federal contracts)
- Excellent written communication and incident documentation skills
