Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity incidents
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and implement security protocols to prevent data breaches and cyberattacks
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and regulatory standards
- Generate comprehensive incident response reports and executive security dashboards
- Lead forensic investigations during security incidents and recommend remediation actions
- Stay current with emerging threats and technologies through continuous research and training
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and endpoint security platforms
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud architectures (AWS/Azure), and attack vectors
- Experience with vulnerability scanners (Nessus, Qualys) and penetration testing methodologies
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats in high-pressure situations
- Effective communication skills for documenting security policies and presenting findings
