Responsibilities
- Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) for real-time threat detection and analysis
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents and generate detailed incident reports
- Implement and optimize security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR) across hybrid environments
- Collaborate with IT teams to remediate vulnerabilities and patch management
- Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments using tools like Burp Suite and Nessus
- Develop playbooks for incident response and disaster recovery scenarios
- Stay current on emerging threats (APT groups, zero-day exploits) and MITRE ATT&CK framework
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification required
- Proficiency in network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate complex security events
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for stakeholder reporting
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends for 24/7 coverage
