Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Investigate cybersecurity incidents and execute containment procedures
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Develop and maintain security documentation (playbooks, policies)
- Collaborate with IT teams on security architecture improvements
- Ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and regulatory standards
- Provide security awareness training to employees
- Generate comprehensive incident reports and executive summaries
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in SOC operations or incident response roles
- Industry certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred)
- Proficiency in threat detection tools (IDS/IPS, EDR)
- Strong understanding of network protocols and infrastructure
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and hybrid environments
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively under pressure during security incidents
