Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and investigate potential threats
- Conduct forensic analysis of security incidents and create detailed incident reports
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network assets
- Develop security documentation including policies, procedures, and playbooks
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, PCI-DSS, and HIPAA standards
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical incident response
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in security operations, threat detection, or incident response
- Industry certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC preferred
- Proficiency with SIEM tools, network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS), and security frameworks
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (Mandiant, Recorded Future)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize critical security events
- Excellent written communication skills for reporting and documentation
