Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending remediation actions
- Develop and maintain security automation scripts to enhance threat detection capabilities
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and ensure compliance with NIST frameworks
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders and incident response teams
- Stay current with emerging threats and threat actor tactics through continuous research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in SOC operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+ and CISSP certifications (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency with SIEM tools, IDS/IPS systems, and network security protocols
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux systems and cloud security (AWS/Azure)
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (e.g., Recorded Future, CrowdStrike)
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rotating on-call duties
