Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis to identify potential security gaps
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection platforms
- Develop and execute incident response plans, including containment, eradication, and recovery procedures
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configuration of network devices, servers, and applications
- Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies through continuous research and professional development
- Generate comprehensive security reports and present findings to senior leadership
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives for employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification preferred
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and security automation platforms
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols, encryption technologies, and threat intelligence
- Experience conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations
