Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats
- Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and develop mitigation strategies
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA standards
- Generate comprehensive security reports for stakeholders and executive leadership
- Stay current with emerging threats and threat intelligence to enhance security posture
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, or incident response
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, network security protocols, and threat intelligence platforms
- Strong analytical skills with experience in log analysis and forensic investigation
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
