Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, including malware analysis and root cause determination
- Develop and implement security protocols, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing frameworks
- Collaborate with IT teams to enhance network security measures and ensure compliance with NIST/CIS standards
- Generate comprehensive incident reports and executive summaries for stakeholders
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry best practices through continuous research
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in threat detection, incident response, or security operations
- Professional certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH) strongly preferred
- Proficiency in security tools: SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, EDR solutions, and vulnerability scanners
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and zero-trust architectures
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats in high-pressure situations
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
