Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time
- Conduct forensic investigations of security incidents, including root cause analysis and mitigation strategies
- Implement and maintain security controls across network infrastructure, cloud platforms, and endpoints
- Develop comprehensive incident response plans and conduct periodic tabletop exercises
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, CIS, and industry-specific frameworks
- Generate detailed security reports for executive stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Proactively identify vulnerabilities through penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) environments
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GIAC certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and EDR solutions
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Experience with threat intelligence platforms (e.g., Recorded Future, AlienVault)
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance (required)
