Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM tools to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and implement incident response plans for security breaches
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST and CIS frameworks
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive leadership
- Research emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
- Manage security tools including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SIEM platforms
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in threat detection methodologies and incident response protocols
- Strong understanding of network security principles and cloud architectures
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate complex security concepts
- Active DoD Secret clearance preferred
