Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and analyze potential threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Investigate security incidents using forensic tools and create detailed incident reports
- Develop and maintain security documentation including policies, playbooks, and procedures
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current with emerging threats and recommend mitigation strategies
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical incident response
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or threat analysis
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS systems
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud platforms
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001)
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure during incidents
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass government background clearance
