Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to threats in real-time
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate breach mitigation activities
- Implement security controls across cloud/on-premise environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Generate comprehensive security reports for executive stakeholders
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend proactive security measures
- Maintain compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and industry-specific regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in threat detection or incident response
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, or Security+ (CompTIA Security+)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), and endpoint protection platforms
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, encryption standards, and attack vectors
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure security services) and DevSecOps practices
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to prioritize critical security incidents
- Active DoD Secret clearance preferred
