Role Overview:
The Senior System Administrator will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of our server infrastructure. You will act as a mentor to junior staff and ensure high availability for critical business applications.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the daily operations of Linux and Windows Server environments, ensuring 99.9% uptime.
- Cloud Solutions: Design and maintain hybrid cloud architectures on AWS and Azure, optimizing for cost and performance.
- Security & Compliance: Implement robust security protocols, manage firewalls, and conduct regular vulnerability assessments.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop Python and Bash scripts to automate routine tasks, reducing manual overhead and human error.
- Disaster Recovery: Create and maintain detailed backup and disaster recovery plans to protect critical data assets.
- Team Leadership: Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior system administrators.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date technical documentation for all systems and processes.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience as a System Administrator or DevOps Engineer.
- Operating Systems: Deep proficiency in Linux (RHEL, CentOS) and Windows Server.
- Scripting: Strong coding skills in Python or Bash.
- Cloud Knowledge: Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC).
- Networking: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing protocols.
- Tools: Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
