Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel) to ensure 24/7 system integrity.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in network architecture and applications before malicious actors exploit them.
- Implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access management systems, to mitigate risks.
- Manage incident response plans, leading forensic investigations and coordinating recovery efforts following security breaches.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, and ISO 27001 through regular audits and policy reviews.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Provide security awareness training to employees to foster a culture of security across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, network administration, or information security.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and virtualization technologies.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation and log analysis.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure during security incidents.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
