Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Java, Python, or Go.
- Debug and resolve complex production incidents and issues during off-hours.
- Optimize database queries and application performance to ensure 99.99% uptime.
- Collaborate with the day-shift engineering team via asynchronous communication tools (Slack, Jira).
- Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and technical planning.
- Automate deployment processes and improve CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in at least one major programming language (Java, Python, C++, JavaScript).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the USA and available to work a consistent night shift schedule.
