Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events in SIEM systems (Splunk/Sentinel) to identify and mitigate potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to proactively identify system weaknesses.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, conducting post-incident analysis to improve defensive measures.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS through documentation and audits.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to design and implement robust security controls and firewalls.
- Manage and maintain security tools, including EDR, IDS/IPS, and DLP solutions.
- Provide security awareness training to employees to reduce human error and phishing risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a SOC, GRC, or Security Engineering role.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation and threat hunting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for on-site security audits as needed.
