We are seeking a highly skilled and security-conscious Senior System Administrator to manage critical infrastructure for a leading government contracting firm in Washington, DC. In this pivotal role, you will be the guardian of our IT environment, ensuring 99.99% uptime and implementing robust security protocols to protect sensitive data.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize on-premise Windows Server environments and hybrid cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure).
- Implement and maintain enterprise-level security protocols, including SIEM integration and access controls.
- Provide Level 2/3 technical support and troubleshooting for complex system issues.
- Automate routine tasks and deployment processes using scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Lead server migrations, patch management, and hardware lifecycle management.
- Conduct regular system audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance reporting (FedRAMP/DOD).
- Collaborate with DevOps and Network Engineering teams to streamline IT operations.
Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or AWS Solutions Architect preferred.
- Deep expertise in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
- Strong experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Identity Management.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain a government security clearance (Secret/Top Secret).
