Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain on-premise and cloud-based server infrastructure, including Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Security & Compliance: Enforce security policies, manage firewalls, and conduct vulnerability assessments to protect sensitive company data.
- System Monitoring: Utilize monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) to track system health, uptime, and performance metrics, proactively addressing issues before they impact users.
- Disaster Recovery: Develop and test robust backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity during outages or data loss events.
- Automation: Write and maintain scripts (PowerShell, Bash) to automate routine administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers and software developers to integrate systems and support application deployments.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent experience is accepted.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator/Server Expert preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in system administration, with a strong focus on Active Directory, group policy, and virtualization.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and Linux (RHEL/CentOS) distributions.
- Scripting: Strong scripting skills in PowerShell or Python.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
