Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level systems including Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization platforms
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot critical issues, and ensure 99.9% uptime for core business applications
- Manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, including cost optimization and security hardening
- Develop automation scripts using Python/PowerShell to streamline repetitive tasks
- Implement robust backup/recovery solutions and disaster recovery protocols
- Collaborate with security teams to maintain compliance with NIST and SOC 2 standards
- Document system configurations and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Windows Server and Linux administration
- Expertise in virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V) and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
- Certification in AWS/Azure or CompTIA Server+ preferred
- Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or SolarWinds
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
- Strong communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration
