Role Overview
The Senior System Administrator will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of our internal IT infrastructure. You will ensure high availability of systems, manage security protocols, and lead technical initiatives that drive business efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain on-premise and cloud-based server infrastructure (Windows Server, Linux, AWS/Azure).
- Implement and monitor security patches, firewalls, and access controls to ensure data integrity.
- Perform system backups, disaster recovery planning, and routine maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the development team to troubleshoot application issues and optimize database performance.
- Configure and manage Active Directory, user accounts, and group policies.
- Monitor system performance using tools like SolarWinds or Datadog and resolve alerts proactively.
- Document technical processes and maintain technical knowledge bases for the IT team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in System Administration or Network Engineering.
- Proficiency in Windows Server (2012/2016/2019/2022) and Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu).
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or CCNA are highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call for critical system issues.
