Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable microservices using Java/Python on AWS cloud infrastructure
- Lead code reviews and mentor junior engineers on weekend rotation team
- Optimize database performance and troubleshoot production issues during weekend shifts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Develop CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless deployment and monitoring
- Document technical specifications and contribute to architecture decisions
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical system incidents
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in backend software development with Java/Python
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and database design
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex production issues under pressure
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent technical certification
- Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate across time zones
- Portfolio demonstrating full project lifecycle involvement
