Responsibilities
- Weekend Maintenance: Lead and execute critical system maintenance, patching, and deployment tasks during assigned weekend shifts to minimize downtime.
- Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and APIs using modern technologies.
- Code Review: Conduct rigorous code reviews to ensure high standards of quality, security, and performance across the team.
- System Architecture: Collaborate with the team to design robust software architectures that support remote and distributed workloads.
- Problem Solving: Debug complex issues in production environments and provide timely resolutions to ensure business continuity.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear technical documentation for all systems and processes.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams in Atlanta and our Illinois office to align technical solutions with business goals.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on backend or full-stack development.
- Availability: Must be available to work occasional weekend shifts and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, or Go, with experience in cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Remote Work: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote or hybrid work environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of collaborating with teams across different time zones.
- Tools: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and version control (Git).
