As a key member of our on-call rotation, you will ensure the stability and scalability of our microservices architecture while collaborating with distributed teams across time zones. Responsibilities
- System Maintenance: Monitor application performance and resolve critical incidents during off-peak hours to ensure 99.99% uptime for our global users.
- Code Optimization: Refactor legacy codebases and implement new features to improve system efficiency and reduce latency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers and QA teams to define technical requirements and review pull requests.
- Security & Compliance: Implement security patches and adhere to compliance standards (SOC2, GDPR) during nightly maintenance windows.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation for troubleshooting guides and architectural changes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience is a plus.
- Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience, specifically in high-traffic environments.
- Programming: Proficiency in Python, Java, or TypeScript. Experience with AWS or Azure is required.
- Night Shift Availability: Must be willing and able to work a rotating night shift schedule (e.g., 10 PM - 6 AM or 11 PM - 7 AM).
- Tools: Strong command of Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
