At Apex Digital Systems, we build scalable, mission-critical software solutions for Fortune 500 clients. As a Night Shift Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our uptime, optimizing legacy systems, and deploying new features that drive business growth during off-peak hours.
Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Architect, code, and test robust software applications using modern languages (Java, Python, or JavaScript) and frameworks.
- System Maintenance: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot critical bugs, and perform necessary patches and updates during the night shift to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, Product Managers) during overlap hours to define requirements and resolve blockers.
- Code Reviews: Conduct rigorous code reviews to ensure best practices, security standards, and scalability are met across the codebase.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, API specs, and runbooks for automated systems.
- Deployment: Manage CI/CD pipelines and execute deployments in a low-risk environment.
Qualifications
- Experience: 4+ years of professional software engineering experience in a similar role.
- Tech Stack: Proficiency in at least two of the following: Java, Python, JavaScript (React, Vue, Angular), or Node.js.
- Night Shift Availability: Ability and willingness to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 10 PM - 6 AM EST).
- Remote Work: Must have a high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Tools: Experience with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS or Azure cloud services.
