Apex Cyber Defense is a leading provider of managed security services, protecting critical infrastructure for Fortune 500 clients across the nation. We are currently looking for a Senior SOC Analyst to join our high-availability Security Operations Center (SOC). This is a unique opportunity to work a weekend shift (Friday to Sunday, 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM) while enjoying a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
In this role, you will be the first line of defense against cyber threats, analyzing security events, responding to incidents, and ensuring the integrity of our clients' data. We value technical expertise, proactive thinking, and a dedication to operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and events across the enterprise using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight).
- Perform triage, investigation, and containment of cybersecurity incidents, including malware analysis and phishing response.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and patch management audits for assigned systems.
- Generate detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation in the SIEM and ticketing systems.
- Collaborate with the Threat Intelligence team to correlate indicators of compromise (IOCs).
- Participate in red team/blue team exercises and security drills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Active CISSP, Security+, or GSEC certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Security Operations, SOC analysis, or Network Defense.
- Deep understanding of network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies.
- Strong experience with at least one major SIEM platform and endpoint detection tools (EDR).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to technical and executive stakeholders.
