The Role
As a Night Shift SOC Analyst, you will operate during high-risk hours to ensure continuous monitoring of network traffic, endpoints, and cloud environments. You will utilize advanced SIEM tools to detect anomalies and lead incident response efforts.
Responsibilities
- Continuous Monitoring: Analyze security alerts and events from SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) to detect malicious activity 24/7.
- Incident Response: Lead the technical investigation, containment, and eradication of security breaches during the night shift.
- Threat Hunting: Proactively hunt for advanced persistent threats (APTs) and zero-day exploits within the network.
- Vulnerability Management: Oversee the patching and remediation process for identified vulnerabilities to reduce the attack surface.
- Report Generation: Create detailed incident reports and threat intelligence summaries for senior leadership and compliance audits.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with Red Team and Blue Team members to refine defensive strategies and test incident response playbooks.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience is accepted.
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, GCIH, or Security+ certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment.
- Night Shift Availability: Must be willing and able to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of NIST frameworks, SIEM tools, and incident response methodologies.
- Scripting: Proficiency in Python or PowerShell for automating security tasks.
