Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to detect potential breaches in real-time.
- Conduct thorough analysis of security logs and traffic patterns to identify vulnerabilities.
- Lead incident response efforts, including containment, eradication, and recovery procedures.
- Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with NIST and ISO standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and development teams to implement robust security controls.
- Write detailed incident reports and contribute to the improvement of security playbooks.
- Mentor junior analysts and conduct security awareness training for staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a SOC environment.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
- Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting for automation and log analysis.
- Experience with incident response frameworks (e.g., NIST IRP).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for stakeholder reporting.
