Job Description
We are seeking a visionary Senior Protocol Engineer to join the core team at Nova Protocol, the architects behind the revolutionary 2026 blockchain ecosystem. As a pioneer in the next wave of decentralized infrastructure, we are building the foundational layer for a trustless future. If you are passionate about cryptography, distributed systems, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible on-chain, this is your opportunity to lead the charge.
In this role, you will directly impact the stability and scalability of the 2026 protocol, working alongside world-class engineers and researchers. You will be responsible for translating high-level architectural vision into robust, secure, and efficient smart contracts that power millions of transactions.
Why Join Us?
- Impactful Work: Build the underlying technology that defines the future of Web3.
- Competitive Compensation: Top-tier salary and equity packages in the fast-growing crypto space.
- Flexible Environment: Fully remote-first culture with a focus on autonomy and output.
Responsibilities
- Core Protocol Development: Design, implement, and test the core consensus mechanisms and smart contracts for the 2026 protocol using Rust and Solidity.
- Security Auditing: Lead internal and external security audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure the highest standard of cryptographic security.
- System Architecture: Architect scalable solutions that can handle high throughput and low latency, ensuring the network remains resilient during congestion.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously profile and optimize gas costs and execution times to improve the overall user experience.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the research team to integrate cutting-edge zero-knowledge proofs and rollup technologies into the mainnet.
- Technical Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation and API specifications to facilitate onboarding for external developers and partners.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years specifically focused on blockchain protocol development.
- Language Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Rust and/or Go, with a deep understanding of Solidity for Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of distributed systems, cryptography (Elliptic Curve, Hashing), and peer-to-peer networking protocols.
- Problem Solving: Exceptional ability to troubleshoot complex edge cases in consensus algorithms and state transitions.
- Tools: Familiarity with development tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
