Job Description
We are looking for a visionary Prompt Engineer to join our elite team in Richmond, VA. As the bridge between human intent and machine intelligence, you will define the future of our generative AI products. If you have a knack for language and a passion for the next generation of technology, we want to hear from you.
In this role, you will not just write text; you will architect the logic that powers Large Language Models (LLMs). You will collaborate closely with data scientists, product managers, and developers to refine our AI capabilities, ensuring our outputs are accurate, safe, and commercially viable.
Responsibilities
- Design, test, and iterate on complex prompts to optimize the performance of LLMs such as GPT-4, Claude, and proprietary models.
- Develop and implement evaluation frameworks to measure the quality, safety, and consistency of AI-generated content.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective prompt engineering strategies.
- Analyze model outputs to identify edge cases and refine system instructions or fine-tuning parameters.
- Stay ahead of the curve in AI research, experimenting with new techniques like Chain-of-Thought prompting and few-shot learning.
- Create comprehensive documentation and knowledge bases for prompt libraries to ensure team scalability.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Transformer architecture, and generative AI principles.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail and tone.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to debug and troubleshoot complex AI behaviors.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, English, Linguistics, or a related technical field (Master's preferred).
- Experience with Python scripting and data analysis tools (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) is a strong plus.
