Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and optimize enterprise-grade network architectures including LAN/WAN configurations
- Proactively monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and Cisco DNA Center
- Implement security protocols including VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Lead troubleshooting initiatives for complex network outages and performance bottlenecks
- Document network configurations and maintain comprehensive system documentation
- Collaborate with cloud teams to hybridize on-premise and AWS/Azure environments
- Provide Tier 3 support and mentor junior technicians
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on network administration experience with Cisco/Juniper hardware
- CCNP/CCIE or equivalent industry certification required
- Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols (OSPF/BGP)
- Proficiency in automation tools (Python, Ansible) for network provisioning
- Experience with SD-WAN solutions (Cisco Viptela, VMware SD-WAN)
- Strong background in network security principles and compliance frameworks
- Excellent written communication skills for remote collaboration
- Valid Virginia driver's license for occasional on-site visits
