We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Network Technician to join our elite IT team in Bakersfield, CA. The Role:
Our ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of network architecture and have a proven track record of optimizing network performance. You will work closely with senior engineers to ensure our network is secure, scalable, and reliable.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and data communication systems.
- Perform physical and logical network troubleshooting to resolve connectivity issues with minimal downtime.
- Terminate and test network cabling, including fiber optics and copper (Cat6/Cat5e).
- Configure and manage enterprise-grade routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network traffic and performance using SNMP and other monitoring tools to ensure optimal operation.
- Document network diagrams, configurations, and changes in our IT documentation system.
- Assist in the planning and execution of network upgrades and migrations.
- Ensure compliance with company security policies and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent military/technical experience.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
- Experience with VoIP systems, VPNs, and wireless networking (Wi-Fi) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using network diagnostic tools and packet analyzers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites.
