Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain complex LAN/WAN infrastructure including Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet solutions
- Implement and monitor network security protocols to protect against cyber threats
- Perform proactive network optimization and capacity planning
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of critical network outages
- Collaborate with cloud teams on hybrid network architecture
- Document network configurations and create technical documentation
- Mentor junior technicians and implement best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of enterprise network administration experience
- CCNP/JNCIP certification required (CCIE/JNCIE preferred)
- Expert knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and VPN technologies
- Hands-on experience with network automation tools (Ansible, Python)
- Strong background in network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC)
- Ability to work independently in remote Alaskan environments
- Valid Alaska driver's license for occasional site visits
