Responsibilities
- Threat Detection & Response: Monitor security operations centers (SOC) 24/7 to identify, analyze, and respond to sophisticated cyber threats and incidents.
- Architecture Design: Design, implement, and maintain robust security frameworks, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems.
- Penetration Testing: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and red-team exercises to identify weaknesses in our infrastructure before malicious actors do.
- Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with industry standards such as SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR through rigorous audits and documentation.
- Cryptography: Oversee encryption protocols and key management strategies to secure data at rest and in transit.
- Incident Management: Lead post-incident reviews and refine playbooks to improve organizational resilience against future attacks.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or network engineering.
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, CISM, or similar advanced certifications are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, Linux, and experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, SIEM).
- Cloud Security: Strong understanding of cloud security models (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container security (Kubernetes/Docker).
- Relocation Eligibility: Must be willing to relocate to San Jose, CA, or already be based in the area.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration and executive reporting.
