Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage complex security architectures and firewalls to protect enterprise assets.
- Lead incident response efforts for security breaches, performing forensic analysis and remediation.
- Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses before attackers do.
- Monitor security alerts and SOC data in real-time to detect and neutralize threats.
- Ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Develop and maintain security policies and training programs for internal teams.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or systems administration.
- Strong working knowledge of SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and endpoint protection (CrowdStrike, Endpoint Defender).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation tasks.
- Must be located in or willing to relocate to the Chicago, IL area.
- Ability to obtain a Security Clearance (if applicable to specific projects).
