Apex Cyber Defense is currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our elite Threat Operations Center.
Our team operates on a critical weekend shift schedule (Saturday and Sunday) to ensure 24/7 protection for our enterprise clients. We offer flexible remote work options for qualified candidates, allowing you to work from anywhere in the US while maintaining a high-impact role.
As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to complex cyber threats in real-time. You will act as the first line of defense against advanced persistent threats (APTs), ransomware, and insider threats.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) platforms for anomalies and potential threats around the clock.
- Conduct detailed forensic analysis of security incidents and provide actionable remediation plans to stakeholders.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and code reviews to identify weaknesses in our infrastructure.
- Manage patch management cycles and ensure strict compliance with SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR standards.
- Collaborate with the threat hunting team to identify zero-day exploits and advanced attack vectors.
- Document security incidents, maintain accurate audit logs, and generate comprehensive incident reports.
- Train junior analysts and conduct internal security awareness training for staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCFA are strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC analysis, or incident response.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, encryption standards, and security frameworks (NIST, ISO).
- Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating shift basis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to executive stakeholders and technical teams.
- Experience with remote security monitoring tools, cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP), and automation scripts (Python/Bash).
